We believe good skincare begins with understanding what goes into it.
Our formulations are built around carefully selected plant oils, butters, clays, botanicals and essential oils. Where available and appropriate, we choose organic ingredients and work with suppliers who help us make informed choices about quality and sourcing. Here are the oils and butters at the heart of our bars.
Organic extra virgin coconut oil
Soil Association certifiedWe only use raw coconut oil that’s pressed from the flesh of organic coconuts. Our coconut oil has been certified organic by the Soil Association, which inspects annually to make sure our supplier complies with its strict regulations.
Organic shea butter
Women’s co-operative, GhanaOur shea butter hasn’t gone through any chemical refining process or extraction. Our supplier extracts it in the traditional way, through a women’s co-operative in Ghana that is committed to empowering women in its local community. When shea is refined, its vitamins and minerals become degraded. Using organic shea means our ingredient hasn’t been sprayed with harmful pesticides – something Little Bee loves for your skin and for the safety of bees.
Organic extra virgin olive oil
Cold pressed · MediterraneanWe only use organic extra virgin olive oil that has been cold pressed from organic olives at low temperatures without the use of solvents. Our supplier harvests organic olives from the Mediterranean region.
Organic castor oil
Soil Association certifiedOur organic castor oil is extracted by cold pressing castor beans and is 100% pure and hexane free. It has been certified organic by the Soil Association, which inspects annually to make sure our supplier complies with its strict regulations.
Virgin avocado oil
Cold pressed · Sustainably sourcedWe only use virgin cold-pressed avocado oil that has been sourced in a sustainable way.
Local Hampshire honey & beeswax
Local beekeepersWe work with local beekeepers to bring ingredients such as honey and beeswax into selected products, like our Hampshire Honey & English Lavender bar.

Thoughtful formulation, not big promises
We do not believe natural ingredients automatically make a product suitable for everyone, or that natural always means better in every circumstance. Instead, we focus on thoughtful formulation, product safety and choosing ingredients that serve a purpose.
